Sick and Sore

When I woke up this morning I realized that there is something worse than being so sore you can barely function: being sick AND sore.

I felt so awful that my sweet roommate had to help me get ready for class this morning. I would have skipped, but considering I had an exam I thought I should just man up and get it over with. And that I did, but I'm pretty sure my grade suffered as much as my body did that hour... It did not go well at all.

The amount of exercising I did today was walking to and from class. Sadly, this was probably harder than all the cardio and weights I did yesterday.

The only productive thing that I did today was spend like 5 hours on Pinterest. I wish I was exaggerating.

While on Pinterest I saw this:

Okay so this is completely ridiculous. I understand getting past your mental state of "I can't do this," but this is just insanity. I'm pretty sure no workout is beneficial if you die afterwards... just saying.

Taste of Summer

I had a wonderful time running the Duke Trail with the "coolest" mom this morning. She has three amazing children that I have been babysitting since I was 13! :) I love them all very much! After our short, but exhausting run we went to Nosh and I enjoyed a delicious PB Banana smoothie. Such an amazing way to top off a run: peanut butter, banana, vanilla protein powder, and milk. I could have had about 4596843569 of them, but I stuck to one today.

I went out and enjoyed the amazing weather today by practicing a little photography with my new camera. As soon as my skills are a little above pathetic, I will post lovely pictures of me wearing cute outfits sweatpants and t-shirts with pit stains. 99.99999% of my life is spent in this attire.

Today's workout was particularly painful because I was so tired from Monday. Rachael and Kate joined me again and we did 15 minutes of interval sprints afterwards. This was my justification for eating a HUGE dark chocolate and m&m brownie after dinner. :) so worth it.

Back/Biceps:
Cable Close Grip Pulldown 3x10
Incline Dumbbell Curls 3x10/arm
Wide Grip Pull Up 3x8
Standing Hammer Curls 3x8/arm
One Arm Bent Over Row 3x10/arm
EZ Bar Preacher Bench Curls 3x10
Standing Alternating Bicep Curls 3x8/arm
Seated Row 3x10

Note: I think WG pull up is my least favorite thing ever.

Protein Packed

Chest/Triceps:
Flat Bench Press 3x9
Cable Triceps Press Down 3x10
45 Incline DB Press 3x8
Triceps Rope Extensions 3x10
Cable Cross Overs 3x10
Lying Z Bar Triceps Extensions 3x8
Close Grip Bench press 3x8
Pushup 3x failure

Fabulous workout today with Rachael and Kate. They say they are scared they'll turn into chiseled body builders, but secretly I know that is what they both want.  :)

But seriously, my triceps are so stiff right now I'm pretty sure you could throw a brick at them and I wouldn't feel it. I called this post "protein packed" because I'm guessing I had around 150g of protein today. Between the 2.5 scoops of whey, around 15oz of chicken, almonds, almond butter, and oatmeal I think I'm on a protein high...

Speaking of almond butter, Justin's Maple Almond Butter has become my new obsession to add to my oatmeal. It is pricey, but definitely worth it.

And it's time to finish my homework...

Academy Award Sunday

George Clooney and Stacy Keibler at the 2012 Academy Awards
I spent this entire evening doing nothing but eating and watching the Academy Awards. Stacy Keibler won "Best Dressed" in my opinion. As for exercising today, I ran 128 miles on I-85. Oh wait, no I didn't. I sat in my car for three hours driving home from Williamsburg after spending the weekend with my cousin Jennifer and her beautiful family. I was scheduled to run 15 miles today, but some how that never happened... Ever since my 14 mile run two weeks ago I haven't wanted to run an inch. I think that officially burned me out. I'm pretty sure March 18th will mark the end of my running "career." The one that never really existed to begin with... But seriously, after that half marathon I am going to welcome new forms of cardio into my life. Running hurts way too much.

Time to finish my homework and get some sleep. Monday's are always long and I have to be energized for my lift tomorrow :)
